Our purpose is to campaign for exemplary diagnosis, management and treatment for all patients with thyroid disease.

ITT Improve Thyroid Treatment is a patient-led campaign and advocacy group. Our aim is to empower patients to take control of their treatment and improve their quality of life. We advocate for science-based, individualised thyroid health care. We believe in equal access for patients to all thyroid treatments.

We aim to educate thyroid patients about their conditions, enabling them to understand their diagnosis and treatment. Patients need the necessary information in order to communicate confidently with their clinicians.

The team at ITT volunteer their time to campaign for a range of treatment options, and against the removal of liothyronine (T3) by Integrated Care Boards and Health Boards. ITT has contributed to important successes in thyroid awareness and changes in official guidelines.

We have access to the experiences of thousands of thyroid patients who are members of our online Facebook group about local or national difficulties, and these inform aspects of our campaign work. We share details of our campaign with our members, and information regarding the thyroid charities, patient groups and government bodies we collaborate with.
